Summer Camp Seasonal Staff Positions

Placement in salary range based on prior experience and skill level.
Room and board is provided in addition to your listed salary.

Current first aid and CPR certifications required for duration of camp season. (Both are offered at camp if you do not have them. There is some benefit to having the classes before you come.)
Resident Camp
Cabin Counselor

$25-30/day
*($1725-$2070 for the season = 69 day season)

*This will vary depending on the number of days worked.
*International pay will be different according to agency hired under.
Responsible to provide constructive, responsible leadership and guidance for a cabin group of 10-15 children ages 7-15. Be a positive role model, living with campers in a cabin. Develop camper character, values, foster camp community, encourage group leadership and develop camp stewardship; give instruction in camp skill classes. Age 18+/at least a high school graduate preferred; experience working with child leadership and/or related activities.

Ability to: positively motivate campers, perform duties as specified in job description and by supervisor; relate well to parents and other staff; especially co-counselors.

First aid and CPR certifications- required
Resident Camp
Assistant Program Director

(1 position)

$30-35/day
*($2130-2485 for the season = 71 day season)

*This will vary depending on the number of days worked.
Plan, coordinate, delivery, support/supervise staff in, and ensure quality of camp activities including campfires, theme days, horseback riding program, skill programs, and all camp activities. Responsible for all camper discipline, camper write ups, etc.

Take active role in staff orientation. Work closely with Camp Director to organize and implement overall camp programs. Function as on-site leader in absence of Camp Director; i.e.; at night, days off, etc. Responsible for summer evaluations of family members and for communication to family group members.
Age 21+, at least one summer previous camp experience. Lifeguard certification preferred.

Knowledge of/practical experience in: typical summer camp programs and activities; peer leadership and supervision; staff management and motivation.

Ability to: train, motivate, support, share insights & ideas with, and supervise staff; organize, facilitate, and evaluate camp skills classes; positively support and connect with campers & staff; perform duties as specified in job description and by supervisor; positively with integrity uphold the camp policies and correct those who do not.
First Aid and CPR certifications-required.
Resident Camp
Pool Director

(1 position)

$30-35/day
*($2130-2485 for the season = 71 day season)

*This will vary depending on the number of days worked.
Actively supervise and maintain safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate pool programs and events. Supervise and train pool lifeguards and instructors. Support and assist counselors in providing safe, fun pool time. Monitor pool chemicals-inform caretaker if problem; program area equipment and supplies- informing Camp Director of any needs.

Take active role in staff orientation. Work closely with Camp Director to organize and implement overall camp programs. Responsible to supervise camp counselors during all camp programs. Responsible for summer evaluations of family members and for communication to family group members.
Age 20+; Must have one season related aquatic experience, documented pool experience in instructional swimming. Must have current Lifeguard certification. Prefer W.S.I or equivalent.

Knowledge of/practical experience in; typical summer camp pool programs, peer leadership and supervision; staff management & motivation.

Ability to: train, support, share insights & ideas with staff instructors; organize, facilitate and evaluate pool and other camp programs; positively support and connect with campers and staff; perform duties as specified in job description and by supervisor; positively with integrity uphold the camp policies and correct those who do not.

Resident Camp
Waterfront Director

(1 position)

$30-35/day
*($2130-2485 for the season = 71 day season)

*This will vary depending on the number of days worked.
Actively supervise and maintain safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate waterfront programs and events. Supervise and train pool lifeguards and instructors. Support and assist counselors in providing safe, fun pool time. Monitor program area equipment and supplies- informing Camp Director of any needs.

Take active role in staff orientation. Work closely with Camp Director to organize and implement overall camp programs. Responsible to supervise camp counselors during all camp programs. Responsible for summer evaluations of family members and for communication to family group members.
Age 20+; Must have one season related aquatic experience, documented waterfront experience in basic teaching of one of the following; canoeing, rowing, kayak, sailing. Must have current Lifeguard certification. Prefer W.S.I or equivalent.

Knowledge of/practical experience in; typical summer camp waterfront/boating programs, peer leadership and supervision; staff management & motivation.

Ability to: train, support, share insights & ideas with staff instructors; organize, facilitate and evaluate pool and other camp programs; positively support and connect with campers and staff; perform duties as specified in job description and by supervisor; positively with integrity uphold the camp policies and correct those who do not.

Resident Camp
Adventure Director

(1 position)

$30-35/day

*This will vary depending on the number of days worked.
Actively assist High ropes Director to supervise and maintain safe, enjoyable, age appropriate adventure programs (includes high ropes, climbing tower, low ropes course). Actively supervise organization and implementation of all Teen programs (LIT & CIT). Supervise facilitators, and support and assist counselors in providing high-quality experiences to campers. Plan, organize, facilitate and supervise all adventure areas in camp.

Take active role in staff orientation. Work closely with Camp Director to organize and implement overall camp programs. Responsible to supervise camp counselors during all camp programs and to be active in all camp programs. Responsible for summer evaluations of family members and for communication to family group members.
Age 20+; must have one season related experience facilitating adventure type programs (climbing wall, high ropes, low ropes) LIT and CIT programs. Lifeguard certification preferred. ABEE high ropes certification required (will received at camp during orientation).

Knowledge of/practical experience in: climbing tower and high ropes course management, peer leadership and supervision; staff management & motivation.

Ability to: train, support, share insights & ideas with staff instructors; organize, facilitate and evaluate adventure and other camp programs; positively support and connect with campers and staff; perform duties as specified in job description and by supervisor; positively with integrity uphold the camp policies and correct those who do not.

Resident Camp
High Ropes Director
(1 position)

$30-35/day

*This will vary depending on the number of days worked.

Actively to supervise and maintain safe, enjoyable, age appropriate adventure programs (includes high ropes, climbing tower, low ropes course). Supervise facilitators, and support and assist counselors in providing high-quality experiences to campers. Plan, organize, facilitate and supervise all rope areas in camp.

Responsible to supervise camp counselors during all camp programs and to be active in all camp programs. Responsible for summer evaluations of family members and for communication to family group members.

Resident Camp
Health Officer

$500 a week.

Supervise healthcare program/plan and health center operations. Help maintain a safe, healthy camp environment using preventative health care and risk management techniques. Review health histories, dispense personal medication, and provide first aid and medical care to all campers and staff in accordance with camp medical protocols. Actively communicate with camp director and camp physician (if needed). Maintain health log, accident and incident reports. Prepare first aid kits for use at adventure areas or trips. Monitor, organize and re-supply medical supply inventory. Responsible to be on duty 24 hours and to actively evaluate health of the entire camp community. Communicate with Camp Director and with camper parents often. Prefer RN degree or EMT.

Knowledge of/practical experience in: peer leadership and supervision; staff management and motivation.

Ability to: perform duties as specified in job description and by supervisor.

Resident Camp
Arts & Crafts Director
(1 position)

$30-35/day
*($2130-2485 for the season = 71 day season)

*This will vary depending on the number of days worked.

Actively supervise and maintain safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate craft program. Supervise class instructors. Support and assist counselors in providing high-quality instruction in craft programs. Monitor program area equipment and supplies, organize and re-supply as necessary.

Plan, organize, facilitate and implement craft programs. Take active role in staff orientation. Work closely with Camp Director to organize and implement overall camp programs. Responsible to supervise camp counselors during all camp programs and to be active in all camp programs. Responsible for summer evaluations of family members and for communication to family group members.
Age 20+; Must have one season related experience in summer camp crafts, and basic teaching experience in arts and crafts. Lifeguard certification- helpful.

Knowledge of/practical experience in: typical summer camp arts and crafts projects, peer leadership and supervision; staff management & motivation.

Ability to: train, support, share insights & ideas with staff instructors; organize, facilitate and evaluate high ropes and other camp programs; positively support and connect with campers and staff; perform duties as specified in job description and by supervisor; positively with integrity uphold the camp policies and correct those who do not.

First aid & CPR certifications- required.

Certifications

CPR and First Aid certifications are required for all Camp Duncan staff. Your CPR certification must include how to care for a child. These certifications must be current and not expire during the summer. It is recommended that you obtain these certifications before arriving at camp. However, staff who come to camp without current certifications will be required to take both classes during staff orientation in order to obtain certifications. The class at camp will be offered at no charge.
